Nexon America has shared new details about the global launch of MapleStory Classic World, reporting that the MMORPG’s peak concurrent player count on Steam reached nearly twice its previous all-time high. The company also announced upcoming content updates for November and December 2026, including a new region, party quests, guild features, and seasonal events.
MapleStory Classic World revisits the early years of the long-running 2D MMORPG, returning players to Victoria Island while introducing new stories and content exclusive to this version. Following the launch, Nexon expanded server channel capacity to accommodate the number of players joining the game.
The first major content update is scheduled for November 18, 2026, introducing Forgotten Hollow, a new region exclusive to Classic World.
Forgotten Hollow features monsters ranging from levels 39 to 59 and is divided into two areas. The upper section contains a sanctuary inhabited by cave fairies, while the deeper section has been affected by corruption from the World Tree. Players will also encounter a new field boss, Rotten Mushmom.
The November update will additionally introduce the Thanksgiving-themed Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake party quest, available to players level 10 and above.
A second update will arrive on December 9, 2026, adding a guild system that allows players to establish guilds directly in Lith Harbor. Players will also be able to create custom guild marks, with additional guild-related features planned for future updates.
The December update will also introduce another party quest set in Forgotten Hollow, available to players level 41 and above. Additionally, Happyville will return as part of the game’s holiday celebrations.
Lastly, Development is underway on Classic World’s first boss raid, the Orbis region, and third-job advancement.
